Thanks to a shiny Kai Brünker, 1st FC Saarbrücken also achieved the fourth victory in a row. Schweinfurt made it really exciting again in the second half.
The 1. FC Saarbrücken underlines its promotion sample: With a narrow 2-1 win on Friday evening in Ludwigspark at home, the FCS celebrates its fourth victory in a row, the fifth a total of seven games so far. Saarbrücken thus consolidates the second place behind the previously unbeaten Duisburgers.
Brünker double pack In the 23rd and 30th minute
With a double pack in the first half, Kai Brünker brought the Saarlanders to the winning road. Once again it was new to Florian Pick who initiated the first goal in the 23rd minute. He fit from the midfield to Elongo-Yombo, who dribbled into the penalty area and from there fit on the free-standing Brünker, who only had to complete.
Pick was also involved in the origin on the second goal in the 30th minute, but the decisive pass on Brünker came from Calogero Rizzuto. In the first half, the guests’ offensive campaigns were faulty, Saarbrücken determined the game with well over 60 percent possession.
Schweinfurt much stronger in the second half
Guest coach Kleinhenz reacted, brought two fresh forces for the two yellow-agreed Zeller and Winzheimer. And he also changed the style of play. The guests now attacked much earlier, disturbed the Saarbrücken building game – and they were actually impressed.
The connection goal for the 2-1 in the 52nd minute came a little surprising: After a corner, the ball landed at Lauris Bauswein, which simply kept on it from the second row and hammered the ball into the right lower corner.
Schweinfurt then stayed tuned. The blue-blacks in the first half were clearly the better team, the Schweinfurter now had significantly more of the game. And in the 76th minute by Johannes Geis that would almost have been equal – the ex -Schalker passed from a good 20 meters but just left past the box.
Red card for Rizzuto
That was a wake -up call for the Saarbrücken, who now found better into the game again – from the 82nd minute there were only ten men on the pitch. Calogero rattled into his opponent with a long leg and had to get off the square with red.
Schweinfurt now threw everything forward – but it also opened the Saarbrückers. The audience favorite Patrick Schmidt, which has now substituted for the battered double scorer Brünker, could have made everything clear in the 94th minute.
Redemption then with the final whistle. Initially it looked like a walk, the FCS wobbled with a good portion of luck for his fourth win of the season.
Next game away in Wiesbaden
After the exhausting English week, the FCS players can take a deep breath. You will only be challenged again next Saturday, September 27th. Then it goes to SV Wehen Wiesbaden – with the chance of the next three.
