Bonnie de Jong (60) and her husband can finally take a hot shower again in their apartment in Boxtel. The water temperature has fluctuated for years, but last month it dropped to zero. She sounded the alarm at Omroep Brabant on Wednesday and had no fewer than six people come over to fix things.

“They came with a whole group: three people from Woonstichting JOOST, a mechanic and two people from energy supplier Ennatuurlijk. And that in our small apartment,” she laughs.

It turned out to be a complicated problem and a complicated construction. Bonnie noticed this when she mentioned the cold water in their Vinckenrode apartment complex several times.

The housing association and building owner referred Bonnie to the technician and the technician referred her to energy supplier Ennatuurlijk. Something with a cupboard and a wall. No one seemed to know. See you Wednesday afternoon.

“The communication between these parties did not go well, and we regret that.”

“They were here all Wednesday afternoon, and in the end the problem turned out to be the pressure. We live on a corner of the complex and we kept getting too little hot water. The energy supplier increased the pressure in the pipes on Wednesday, so we have hot water again.”

But it is a temporary solution, says a spokesperson for Housing Foundation JOOST. “We are working on a sustainable solution, but we don’t know yet when we will achieve that.”

The spokesperson admits that it took too long for the problem to be resolved. “Several parties are involved and that made it more complicated. The communication between these parties did not go well, and we regret that.”

“I had a warm shower last night, which was great! Really delicious!”

According to the spokesperson, there are at least four apartments in the complex that had problems with hot water. There could also be more. She calls on residents to report problems.

Bonnie is happy that the problem has been temporarily resolved for now. She really enjoyed her very first hot shower in a long time. “I had a warm shower last night, which was great! Really delicious!”

Although she is surprised that the problem was solved in one day. “I don’t know why, we have sounded the alarm many times. But now that I have called you, they are suddenly awake.” According to the JOOST spokesperson, they had already noticed the problem before. She now maintains daily contact with residents of the building.
