Shortly before the start of the Biathlon World Cup in Lenzerheide, unrest in the French camp. Quentin Fillon-Killet had publicly complained about his non-consideration in the mixed relay of the Equipe Tricolore. Now the zoff seems to be included.

The thick air in the French biathlon team seems to have evaporated after the victory in the mixed relay race on Wednesday.

“I am proud of her,” wrote ski hunter Quentin Fillon-Millet on Instagram to an image on which the relay runners Julia Simon, Lou JeanMonnot, Eric Perrot and Emilia Jacquelin celebrate their World Cup title. The congratulations are a kind of conciliatory conclusion to one of the big topics in the run -up to the competitions that were discussed in the neighboring country.

The 32 -year -old two -time Olympic champion and overall World Cup winner of 2021/22 recently complained publicly about his non -consideration in the relay.

“I do not give Emilia (Jacquelin, editor’s note) or Eric (Perrot) to blame. “No secret of this made it absolutely dissatisfied with the decision of the French coaches.

His hard work apparently “not paid off,” he also rumbled. “It’s a difficult decision, but I thought I would have earned more consideration on the part of the staff.”

France follows the “sporting logic” – and has success

The Frenchman was part of the seasons for years, and he was also extremely successful in the mixed races.

At the World Cup last year in Nove Mesto, he won the title with the quartet, and he also became world champion in the single mixed relay. In total, he drove 16 World Cup medals in the course of his career, including eleven with the seasons. At the Beijing Olympic Games, he also won the silver medal with the mixed and men’s quartet.

Coach Stéphane Bouthiaux meanwhile justified the decision that one wanted to follow the “sporting logic”. In the overall World Cup, Perrot and Jacquelin are in front of Fillon-Millet.

In Lenzerheide, the qualities of the veteran were ultimately not required. In the end, France finished the finish line despite a penalty of the final runner Emilien Jacquelin with 1:04 minutes ahead of the Czech Republic and Germany. The highlights for the race can be seen in the video above.
