Feyenoord plans to officially announce the arrival of Dévy Rigaux, as the club’s new technical boss, on Tuesday. The Belgian, who comes from Club Brugge where he worked for seventeen years, will initially be tasked with giving coach Robin van Persie a selection that can compete with PSV.

Rigaux has built up quite a reputation in Belgium. The 38-year-old Belgian once started at Club Brugge as a youth coach. He eventually worked his way up to Sporting Director, although he had to share responsibility for recruiting players and putting together a selection with several leaders.
Yet Rigaux was partly responsible for a number of excellent purchases and sales. Midfielder Ardon Jashari came from FC Luzern for 5.5 million and disappeared to AC Milan a year later for a multiple that. The sales of Maxim de Cuyper (Brighton) and Chemsdine Talbi (Sunderland) and Antonio Nusa (RB Leipzig) also earned the Belgian champion a lot of money.
Upcoming transfers
Rigaux knows that the trio Anis Hadj Moussa, Givairo Read and Ayase Ueda are well in the market and may want to make a transfer. The Belgian will have to use that money to bring in suitable replacements, while he will have to attract players in other positions – left winger, central defender, extra goalkeeper.
After hiring general manager Robert Eenhoorn, Rigaux is the next leader for the number two in the Netherlands. Feyenoord also thinks Giovanni van Bronckhorst in a technical role. Trainer Saïd Bakkati will join Van Persie’s staff as an assistant. He comes over from Sparta.
