After ‘sick leave’, Carel Eiting returns to FC Volendam training field

Carel Eiting reported back to FC Volendam’s training field on Tuesday morning. The captain was missing last Saturday in the exhibition match against KV Kortrijk (2-1 loss), due to ‘illness’. The 25-year-old midfielder seemed to want to speed up a transfer to FC Twente.

Eiting has started training again after three days of absence. It is not yet clear whether a solution has been found on the transfer issue. The captain had The Telegraph a limited transfer fee of about 400,000 euros in his old contract. FC Twente offered that amount, but Volendam was not satisfied and extended the contract with Eiting until mid-2025. It is unclear whether a limited transfer fee has been included in the new contract.
