After the popularity of the dick cuddle, there is a new hype at the Tilburg fair this year. The ‘Perlut Snack’, Flemish for Piemelsnack, promises to be the snack of this year at the fair. Our reporters Thijs den Ouden and Manon Snoeren put it to the test and tested the special frying snack. “Never felt like this,” laughs Thijs.

The snack in the shape of the male genitals consists of chicken, beef, onion, egg and herbs. The Perlut was conceived by Victor Verhulst, the son of Gert Verhulst the Studio 100-Magnaat from Belgium. What started when a joke has grown into a serious business at the Tilburg fair.

The snack can be purchased at several things in the center for a price of around four euros. Quite what kind of snack, if you ask Thijs and Manon. Yet they wanted to put it to the test to see if the snack is worth the hype.

“I have never felt like a dick,” Thijs jokes when he orders the frying snack at a stall at the fair. With a good blob of mayonnaise, the greasy snack slides well into the gourmets.

“It looks like such a spicy, but it’s not spicy. This is great if you have a few beers on,” he laughs. Manon also has to believe it, but she decides to eat a blob of mustard.

“Nice and spicy.”

“He is very hot inside, but good to swallow,” she laughs. “It looks like a meatball inside and the meat is nice and spicy.” The gourmets unanimously end up on a score of four fiddling bears of the five, with which the snack scores a superficial.

According to Thijs and Manon, the Snack is the Hype Waard and that explains why many catering establishments in Tilburg buy big during the fair. With some things you even get the Perlut with your beer for free.

Two years ago, the penis cuddly was in great demand at the Tilburg fair. The pink, plush companion was indispensable in the many graai rames at the fair. The hug was not only loved by pink Monday, but the entire fair could not be dragged on the hugs. Whether that will also happen at the Perlut this year is still waiting.
