Adrian Appiolaza debuts for Moschino

The highly anticipated debut collection from Moschino creative director Adrian Appiolaza, who was appointed in January, debuted at Milan Fashion Week on Thursday. His designs were considered a homage to Franco Moschino, the fashion house’s founder. After his death in 1994, he left behind a rich fashion legacy full of humor. The reason for honoring Franco Moschino with this FW24 collection is his “universal message of peace and love,” Moschino announced on Friday.

Classic designs with a modern twist played the main role and all bore the unmistakable signature of Moschino. On the catwalk, in addition to a black turtleneck dress with a ‘Peace’ inscription, there was also a bright yellow sweater emblazoned with an oversized smiley face, a blouse in the colors of the Italian flag, a simple trench coat with a waist belt and a casual denim jumpsuit.

The fashion house has recently undergone numerous changes: When ex-Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott resigned in March last year after ten years of service, no successor was announced for a long time. In October, a candidate was found, the Italian Davide Renne, who died unexpectedly shortly after taking office. At the beginning of this year, Moschino parent company Aeffe SpA finally put in place Appiolaza as new creative director of the brand.
