Adam Kakembo becomes the first CEO of the sneaker brand

Hidnander has appointed an external managing director for the first time. Adam Kakembo has been appointed to the role of chief executive officer, the Lugano, Switzerland-based sneaker brand announced on Friday.

The luxury sneaker-focused brand has grown annually since its inception in 2019 and is now scaling for even more dynamic growth into 2024 and beyond, according to the release. Expansions to the USA, Great Britain and South Korea are also planned. The search for local partners has already started.

Kakembo is supposed to help with this. The designated managing director comes from the perfume brand Aesop, where he worked as Global Product & Marketing. In his role, he drove the integration of creative marketing, product, R&D and compliance to meet the ever-evolving needs of global customers through omnichannel presence.

Previously, he was primarily involved in fashion, including positions as chief marketing officer at Scotch & Soda and vice president of design, product, and marketing at VF subsidiary Wrangler.

He will lead the brand alongside Hidnander founder and creative director Alessandro Vigano.
