ADAC GT Masters shrinks to 22 cars

When the vehicles were unloaded in the Oschersleben motorsport arena, it was clear: the ADAC GT Masters would be down by another vehicle. T3 Motorsport is a guest at the season opener of the German GT Championship with just one Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo.

T3 was represented on the entry list with two Lambos. Maximilian Paul and Marco Mapelli’s car will drive as planned. The #71 also took part in Thursday’s testing, where all 22 cars met.

Until recently, behind the scenes it was said that Esmee Hawkey could switch from the DTM to the ADAC GT Masters. The fact that Hawkey – officially because of a positive corona test – did not take part in the DTM test drives in Hockenheim fitted into the picture. Apparently she is supposed to start in the DTM as planned.

Thus, at the start of the season, T3 is concentrating on Paul and Mapelli’s vehicle. And the second car? The team says that there will be guest starts in the ADAC GT Masters during the season. When and with whom is still written in the stars.

As a result, the ADAC GT Masters field is reduced to 22 cars for the 2022 season – five fewer than last year.

But it doesn’t have to stay that way during the season. According to information from “Motorsport-Total.com”, several teams are planning guest starts during the season. There could also be a sixth brand.
