Even with new national coaches, the German ski hunters do not find their way out. Almost two weeks after the World Cup, there was the next disappointment.
The German biathletes continue to run afterwards. At the first World Cup after the disappointing World Cup almost two weeks ago, the athletes of the German Ski Association (DSV) remained a lot owe. The new national coach Tobias Reiter did not change that in the Czech Nové Město.
The best starter in the sprint race over ten kilometers was Justus Strelow in 19th. The ski hunter from SG Stahl Schmiedeberg had 1: 12.2 minutes behind the winner émilien Jacquelin from France with a shooting error.
Philipp Nawrath (2/+1: 20.9), Philipp Horn (3/+1: 27.6) and David Zobel (1/1: 28.8) were in places 23, 25 and 26. Danilo Riethmüller (4/+2: 04.3) and Johannes Kühn (4/+2: 25.4) were as 42nd and 50th under further travel. In total, the six DSV starters led 15 shooting errors.
“Actually, it was quite good to have a little break. I was well prepared and relatively fresh. But it seems that it was a little more difficult to get back in,” Nawrath at the ARD microphone analyzed his performance with regard to the almost one and a half week break after the World Cup in Lenzerheide in February.
However, new national coach Reiter should not be satisfied with the appearance of the DSV starters. The 39-year-old took over the team a few days ago after the surprising resignation of Uroš Velepec.
Still the disappointing World Cup, in which the German athletes ran significantly in the individual competitions, Reiter is to trace the team back to the road to success with a view of the 2026 Olympics. However, this should be more than difficult for the chasing race on Saturday (from 2:55 p.m. in the LiveTicker from T-Online) over 12.5 kilometers.
