Leader Ajax defends a six -point lead on PSV on Sunday, the number two in the ranking. But for the time being, trainer FAROLI does not want to speculate about a possible 37th national title for the 125-year-old record champion in the Netherlands.

“The pressure is not with us,” he said. “I had an interesting conversation with our technical director Alex Kroes yesterday. The priority can still be brought our club back to the Champions League, ideal with a place in the first two. That is the reality. We play for that. We have to live from match to match and always try to get the maximum result.”

Weghorst is missing

Farioli emphasized that Ajax achieved 35 points less than PSV in the Eredivisie last season. “And we also had to say goodbye to important players,” he said. “That’s why I was instructed to end up with the best three. But of course we always go for more.”

Ajax misses the injured Wout Weghorst, Remko Pasveer and Youri Regeer in Eindhoven. Weghorst must postpone his return because the toe he broke at the beginning of last month is insufficiently recovered.
