A few weeks ago, the former defender Alessandro Nesta was released in Monza. Now he should help the cut club to stay in the league.
After the 1: 5 defeat at Lazio Rome, the AC Monza separated from Coach Salvatore Bocchetti and put an old friend back on the coaching chair. As the relegation threatened Italian first division announced on Monday, the 38-year-old follows his own predecessor: Alessandro Nesta, world champion from 2006, was only released shortly before Christmas.
The former world -class defender had taken over the position with the Lombards last summer. After the team was only able to score ten points in 17 season games and thus stood in the last place in Serie A, the 48-year-old had to vacate his place for the ten-year younger Bocchetti.
However, this could not stop the AC’s sporting descent. The team won only three points in the seven games with the five -time Italian international on the coaching bench. In the meantime, the bottom of the table is eight points separate from a non -relegation zone.
For the old and new coach Nesta, his second commitment to the northern Italians begins with a home game against US Lecce (Sunday, 3 p.m. in the live ticker at T-Online).
