Kneeland was found dead Thursday morning, according to police. The cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
On Wednesday night, Kneeland sent a message to his family’s message group saying goodbye to his loved ones. Family members were immediately concerned. They contacted 911 and Kneeland’s girlfriend tried to get hold of the player through this agent.

Kneeland’s agent called the local police. A patrol tried to stop Kneeland Wednesday night for a traffic violation, but the NFL player drove away. The pursuit ended when officers lost sight of Kneeland.
The NFL player was found dead in Frisco, Texas three hours after the pursuit ended. He had crashed his car and then shot himself.
Kneeland was in his second year in the NFL. He scored his first career touchdown the week he died.
