A third command of the Civil Guard, investigated for irregularities in the works of the barracks

The accusations of Barracks case are extended to a third boss of the Civil Guard. The commander who governed the Personnel and Support Section of the Alicante Command, TO THEhas been incorporated into the cause that is being pursued in Madrid by rigging of work contracts in houses-barracks of the armed institute, confirm police sources close to the investigation.

The Civil Guard Internal Affairs investigations review this officer for a crime of documentary falsificationlike the former head of the Ávila Command, Carlos Alonso, for endorsing and sealing works as executed without verifying their effective completion.

This third defendant, who was a commander in Alicante when the events occurred, recently promoted to lieutenant colonelbut the Civil Guard has not yet given him a place, so he remains in a situation of active duty without destination.

At the moment, Lieutenant Colonel AL has only received a statement from Internal Affairs. The judge investigating the case in Madrid has not yet called him to testify.

The investigated officer has assured this newspaper that he does not yet know his new circumstances. The lieutenant colonel explained that he only limited himself to confirming what the bosses communicated to him of the quarters.

Throughout the investigated period, the Command of the Civil Guard of Alicante contracted 11 works to companies from ‘Mon’ Tejera. The builder from Lanzarote billed 381,611 euros to the armed institute.

The Internal Affairs investigation includes, according to a report to which this newspaper has had access, that in July 2016 the general in charge of the Valencian Community Zone indicated to the commanders of that territory that two budgets of ‘Mon’ for the The Vall d’Uixó and Torreblanca barracks “could be carried out because that was the way they had participated from the bodies of the General Directorate, also indicating that the Command would have additional credit to deal with said works.” Neither painting nor rehabilitating those barracks was among the priorities of that Civil Guard Zone.
