Appointment of Chief Public Prosecutor for the District Public Prosecutor’s Office of The Hague | News item

At the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Mrs. Mr. JM (Margreet) Fröberg has been appointed Chief Public Prosecutor of the District Court of The Hague. The Council of Ministers has decided to nominate her on the proposal of Minister Yesilgöz of Justice and Security. The intended appointment date is 1 May 2023.

Mrs Fröberg has been working as the chief public prosecutor of the Zeeland-West Brabant public prosecutor’s office since 2019. She has already had a long career with the Public Prosecution Service. In 1997 she started as a public prosecutor at the East Netherlands public prosecutor’s office. She later worked as a solicitor general and head of department at various public prosecutor’s offices. From 2018 to 2019, she was Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor of the Functional Prosecutor’s Office. In 2017 she joined the public prosecutor’s office management of the Functional Public Prosecutor’s Office, where she fulfilled the functions of deputy chief public prosecutor and later acting chief public prosecutor.

Ms Fröberg succeeds Mr M. (Michiel) Zwinkels, who will be appointed Chief Public Prosecutor at the Functional Public Prosecutor’s Office as of 1 March 2023.
