Colorado’s season in the NHL has been convincing.
The Colorado Avalanche are on their way to the Presidents’ Trophy. PDO
The most interesting game of the day
Colorado is very close to winning the NHL regular season, with 6-10 games left to play, depending on the team. The team leads the Western Conference by eight points over Dallas, which Colorado will face next night’s opponent after Vancouver on Saturday morning Finnish time. The best team in the East, Carolina, is also eight points behind Colorado. In addition, Colorado has played two games less than Dallas and one game less than Carolina.
The winner of the regular season is awarded the Presidents’ Trophy in the NHL. Since the 1985–86 season, the trophy has not necessarily had only positive karma for its recipient, as only ten of the 39 Presidents’ Trophy winners have been able to win the Stanley Cup later in the spring.
Before the West’s hegemony game against Dallas on Saturday, Colorado will face Vancouver, the tail end of the conference, next night. Vancouver lost their playoff chances a long time ago. The difference between the conference’s second-last team and Chicago is already 18 points. Vancouver has lost over 71% of their games this season. Similarly, Colorado’s winning percentage is 67%. Vancouver now has six consecutive losses. Colorado, on the other hand, has won five of its last six. In the previous game, Calgary fell at home 9–2.
In terms of power relations, it is not unclear who should be the mega-favorite. However, Colorado’s next game against Dallas and the crushing victory of the previous game make the match somewhat interesting in terms of betting. Even though Colorado can do well against weak teams at the moment let down -attitude, so in this match Vancouver’s handicaps are so big that playing it might even be victorious in the long run. Veikkaus’ odds of 1.86 for Vancouver+2.5 is the highest offer on the market. Colorado–Vancouver starts at 3:30.
The best betting tip of the day
Wednesday’s tastiest bet search can be found in the Swiss league. Fribourg and Rapperswil will play the tiebreaker match of their quarter-final series in Friborg. Here, the goal number coefficients have been set too much in anticipation of an abundance of goals. In four of the six matches in the series, there have been less than 5.5 goals, with the goal average being 4.83 goals per game. An average of 4.47 goals per game have been created in the matches expected to score. In the matches played in Friborg (Rapperswil is quite a big underdog and therefore its style of play is more defensive away from home) the expected goal has remained at 4.0 goals per match. In cut-off games, the effort and pressure of the match usually reduce the number of goals. My estimate for a stoppage game under 5.5 goals is 59% and the offered marginal odds of 1.70. Fribourg–Rapperswil starts at 21:00.
