Until now, the streaming service Netflix’s credentials have been able to be shared among several users. In the future, there will be a change to this, meaning that IDs can no longer be shared.
In South America, Netflix has tried a new practice in which the sharing of credentials is strictly prohibited. This practice is now coming elsewhere as well.
– You can still share your ID with your partner, but not with your cousin who lives in a different city, then it’s a different matter, CEO of Netflix Reed Hastings For Dagens Nyheter.
According to Dagens Nyheter it’s only a matter of time, because the practice will come to the Nordic countries.
Already in October, Netflix sent a letter to shareholders in which it said it would start charging those who share their accounts outside their home. It is not yet known how the ban will be enforced in practice and when it will be implemented.
Another significant reform is also coming to the Nordic countries, which is already in use in some countries. At some point, a cheaper, advertising-financed package will become available.
It is not yet known when this will be available in the Nordic countries.
