A shameful loss to Poland in football

Belgium crushed the Polish Nations League in a match 6-1 on Wednesday. The game was still 1-1 at break.

The defeat is the worst for Poland since 2010, when Spain, who played as world champion, beat the Poles in a friendly 6-0.

Przegląd Sportowy was quoted as head coach in his report Czesław Michniewiczin said before the match in Belgium that “let’s see what happens in the game”.

– The game is now played, and after this performance it hurts everywhere, the magazine pulled together.

Przegląd Sportowy went on to say that Belgium was playing at the expense of Poland. In a story about the block situation, the loss was described as “shameful”.

“Such a nightmare”

Polish star striker Robert Lewandowski commented on the loss to TVP Sport.

– This was a good lesson for us. Belgium took advantage of all our mistakes, Lewandowski, who scored Poland’s only goal, said.

Fakt described the loss as a “whip”.

– The first half did not yet seem like this would become such a nightmare. When the sides of the field were changed after the break, the Polish team was no longer even present, Fakt wrote.

Cold shower

Super Express, meanwhile, partly explained the loss with a referee scandal. According to the magazine, Belgium scored the opening goal Axel Witselin should probably have put his team up another goal after 42 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by Świętokrzyskie kept the visitors in the game.

Witsel was shown a yellow card after 36 minutes for slicing down an opponent Grzegorz Krychowiakia on the elbow. The magazine thought the situation was clearly a red card spot.

Super Express was highlighted by the president of the Polish Football Association Cezary Kuleszan Twitter update.

– It’s hard to find positive things in the game. The crushing loss takes a hard toll. I’m angry, but usually a cold shower helps, Kulesza wrote.

Poland and Belgium play in the A League of Nations League. The Netherlands lead the block by six points. Belgium and Poland are at three points. Wales, won by Poland, is at zero.

Poland will play in the Qatar World Cup in November-December in the same block as Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Argentina.
