The royal family gathered at Balmoral Castle in Scotland over the weekend. Prince Andrew was also there.

Andrew was captured driving a car to church. Prince William and Princess Catherine sat in the back seat of the car.

The recent pictures have been apt to arouse speculations about whether the icy family relations are finally melting. The future king, William, has been described as having been the driving force when there were discussions about the fate of the tumultuous Andrew’s titles and their usurpation.

In January 2015, Andrew was connected to an ongoing sex crime case in the United States.

Andrew is no longer represented in royal duties other than his own family’s events, for example at the Queen’s funeral and his brother’s coronation.

King Charles and Queen Camilla have vacationed at Balmoral Castle longer than any other royal family.

It was a tradition for the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip to host the family at the castle during their summer vacation.

The royal couple will stay at Balmoral at least beyond the anniversary of the Queen’s death, September 8. The Queen died at the age of 96 last year at Balmoral.

It has already been reported that Charles and Camilla will celebrate the anniversary of the Queen’s death privately.

Eviction from home?

King Charles has long wanted his brother Andrew out of the Royal Lodge home. The prince has lived in his home for 20 years.

The Royal Lodge manor was rented to Andrew in 2003. The luxurious manor has 30 rooms. Andrew has been reluctant to move, partly because he has paid for the mansion’s renovations over the years with his own money. The lease was written for 75 years.

According to rumors, however, Prince William of Wales would like to move into the Royal Lodge. Express’ royals expert Robert Jobson believes that as the future king, William is the only one who could influence Andrew’s departure.

On the other hand, Prince William has no shortage of houses. The prince already owns three houses, Anmer Hall, Kensington Palace and Adelaide Cottage. The expert thinks that the prince hardly wants to make a bigger fuss and demand an even bigger apartment for himself.
