A packed sports day: Wimbledon final, sprint race, Tour de France, Giro Donne and practice matches | cycling

A packed sports weekend is just around the corner with the Tour de France, the women’s final of Wimbledon, the European Championship women’s football, practice matches of the premier league clubs, Giro Donne and the sprint race and Grand Prix of Austria.

Tour de France

The eighth stage of the Tour de France is on the program today, a stage of 186 kilometers from Dole to Lausanne. Ideal for the adventurers in the pack. Tadej Pogacar wears the yellow jersey and again hit Jumbo-Visma yesterday at La Super Planche des Belles Filles, although there is some form of optimism there.

At 12.30 pm this site will start a live blog in which the stage can be followed. Here you will find everything about the Tour de France: the latest news, premium stories, columns, videos, podcasts and all results and standings.

Wimbledon final

A first in the women’s final of Wimbledon: for the first time, an African tennis star is in the final battle on the sacred grass in London. Our Jabeur from Tunisia is the name and she is in a grand slam final for the first time in her career. She has been nicknamed the Minister of Happiness in her native country.

Jabeur plays against Kazakhstan’s Jelena Rybakina, who has never reached that level in a grand slam tournament before. She defeated Simona Halep in straight sets.

The final starts at 3 p.m. and can be viewed on Eurosport or Ziggo Sport. A report will appear on this website afterwards.

Sprint race in Austria

From 4.30 pm the drivers will drive 24 laps on the track in Spielberg. The result of the sprint race determines who starts where at the Grand Prix on Sunday. The sprint race can be followed via a live blog on this site.

European Women’s Football Championship

The European Championship in England has been in full swing since Wednesday, but tonight the Lionesses will also play for the first time. They play directly against one of the top favorites for the overall victory: Sweden. National coach Mark Parsons looks ahead with confidence at the top poster. Everything about the European Championship Women’s Football can be found in this file.

The match between the Netherlands and Sweden can be followed via this live blog. Kick-off is at 9pm in Sheffield.

Giro Donnec

The Giro Donne is nearing its end. Annemiek van Vleuten is on track to win this cycling round for the third time in her career. In the penultimate stage, the peloton will be faced with three mountains in a stage over 112.8 kilometers. The riders will start in San Michele All’Adiga and finish in San Lorenzo Dorsino.

Van Vleuten is 2 minutes and 13 seconds ahead of Marta Cavalli and almost four minutes on Mavi Garcia. Yesterday the Movistar rider won her second stage in this edition despite crashing. Of course, this website will come with a report after the ride. At Eurosport, the ninth stage can be followed live from 12.45 pm.
