Finnish NHL forward Erik Haula has agreed to a contract extension with his team New Jersey Devils. The contract covers the next three seasons, and it brings Haula a total of 9.45 million dollars, or about 8.68 million euros.

The Devils told about it on their own Twitter account.

– Erik played important minutes in all situations during the season. At the end of the season, he told me how much he wants to be a part of building our team in New Jersey. I’m glad the deal was done quickly, Devils CEO Tom Fitzgerald told in the bulletin.

Haula played 80 games in the regular season this season, where he scored 41 power points. In the playoffs, Haula scored six points in twelve matches.

The 32-year-old Finnish forward has been the NHL’s all-around prize in recent seasons, while in the last five seasons Haula has played in six different teams. Fitzgerald said in the press release that with the agreement, Haula and his family have the opportunity to settle down in their fields.
