Finnish national team basketball player Jacob Grandison, 27, was sidelined due to a test sample given at the EC tournament, French Bebasket reports.

President of LNB, the French basketball umbrella organization Philippe Ausseur claim France 3 NoA’s in the interview, that Grandison was suspended from the Finnish Federation due to a mistake made by the doctor.

According to Ausseur, Grandison has a license to use the drug shown in the test sample. However, the Finnish doctor had not submitted the necessary certificates to the anti-doping agency Wada, as a result of which Grandison was falsely accused of doping.

– This is an unfortunate case, Ausseur says and complains about Wada’s slowness in handling the case.

– It’s about a man who can’t practice his profession, Ausseur says.

Grandison, who moved to Boulazac Basket of the French league, has not been able to play or practice with his new team.

Coach Alexandre Ménard tells La Dordogne Libre in the interview that he wants Grandison to join the games as soon as possible.

– We are looking forward to this being resolved one way or another, says Ménard.

– Jacob is really the player we are missing.
