A court in Moscow sentenced a Dagestani to 11 years for persuading him to commit a terrorist attack – RBK

The Second Western District Military Court of Moscow sentenced Yusup Yusubov, a native of Dagestan, to 11 years in prison for trying to persuade others to arrange an explosion at the Kievskaya station of the Moscow metro. This was reported to RBC in court.

“11 years, of which he will serve three years in prison, and the rest of the term in a maximum security colony,” the court said.

The verdict has not yet entered into force and can be appealed.

Yusubov accused under Part 1.1 of Art. 205.1 of the Criminal Code (inducement to commit a terrorist act). Consequence establishedthat he was a member of an organization recognized as terrorist in Russia. “In the period from November 2018 to January 2019, he repeatedly and systematically in the course of meetings persuaded people to commit terrorist crimes in the capital region, as well as to commit illegal actions against law enforcement officers,” – said in a message from the capital’s department of the UK.
