Scientists from KU Leuven, UZ Leuven and imec warn that someone can be just as contagious in the first two days after a corona infection as in the period afterwards and that half of the antigen tests in that early phase give a false negative result. This means that infected persons can spread the virus early after being infected, even if they have taken a negative rapid test. The results of the study have been published as a preprint and have not yet gone through peer review.
