Demolition, break and clean up. In recent months, Village House Open Door in Elim has been over and over again by volunteers. And that was necessary, because the building was outdated and was therefore completely renovated.
Brand new, this is what Village House Open Door looks nowadays. There is a fresh lick of paint on all walls in the large hall, all lamps have been replaced and the furniture has been renewed.
It was time for an upgrade, according to Jan Benjamins of Local Interest Elim. “Everything came from the fifties, was dirty and didn’t look nice anymore. Now we can go ahead for a while.”
