Nobody does anything so quickly when it comes to entertainment. Now the league comes with a new online format, which should ensure the best entertainment in the offseason.
As the NFL announced on Thursday, there will be a new format called “NFL Offsides” in cooperation with “Weplay Studios” in cooperation with “Weplay Studios”. This is a weekly show in which NFL players, legends and well-known gaming creators compete in exciting challenges inspired by video games.
“Filled with large personalities, content and the field meet in this unique format and the field,” says the announcement of the NFL. “NFL offsides promises a dynamic mix of sports and gaming content that will strengthen our connection to the Gen z-fan bonds,” said Ed Kiang, Vice President of Video Gaming at NFL. “We are happy to work with WEPLAY Studios to bring this game show with NFL players and legends as well as top gaming creators to life,” it says.
The debut sequence on April 15th at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time (0 a.m. German time) will take place on the air and on the official YouTube channels of the NFL and in the streams of the creators present. The whole thing is moderated by Cameron Dicker, who is currently under contract with the Los Angeles Chargers as a kicker, and the famous streamer Ovilee May.
And the guests of the first episode have already been determined. Daiyan Henley, Dickers teammate at the Chargers, is also there and the former running back star Todd Gurley will be there. The two gaming creator Xaryu and Pikaboo are also included.
NFL: Exciting structure of the programs
Each episode of NFL offsides will be divided into three segments that offer the viewers unique opportunities to get in touch with the talents:
- Physical challenge: a real re-enactment of video game-inspired sets and challenges that test the physical and strategic skills of the participants.
- Mysterious segment: an unpredictable turn in which the participants are puzzled, quiz questions or surprising challenges, which are provided by the production team or their community in chat.
- Game showdown: The ultimate test for reflexes and teamwork, in which the participants compete against each other in a leading video game and exploit their skills to the utmost.
