The criticism of national coach Ralf Rangnick is growing. Could he soon switch to the Bundesliga?

An experienced football strategist is apparently at the center of the considerations of two top German top clubs. Because as the Austrian magazine “Profile” reports, both FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund should be interested in working with Ralf Rangnick.

In the “black yellow”, the current national coach in Austria could be an option for the position of sports director Sebastian Kehl. According to information from the “Sport Bild”, Rangnick at BVB is discussed internally as a possible alternative for the summer. Even before Niko Kovač’s obligation, he was an issue there as a coach.

According to the “profile” report, the German record champion is now also crushing to Austria. Honorary President Uli Hoeneß in particular should attach great importance to Rangnick’s strategic skills. He could imagine a superordinate role for the national coach – in the wording as a “mastermind”.

According to information from the “Bild” newspaper, this assessment coincides with internal observations at FC Bayern. Hoeneß should continue to be convinced of Rangnick’s work – despite his previous rejection of the coaching position last summer. A possible role for Rangnick is compared internally with Jürgen Klopp’s model as “Global Head of Soccer” at Red Bull.

Such a concept would have several advantages for Bayern: Rangnick could not only strengthen the club in the area of scouting and young people with its experience, but also act as a possible transition solution to key positions such as trainers or sports director.

Regardless of these considerations, the current trainer Vincent Kompany is not up for debate internally. The Belgian led FC Bayern to the title course in the Bundesliga and is in the quarter -finals of the Champions League. Sports board member Max Eberl has also recently had success with the extension of contracts with Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala, Manuel Neuer and Joshua Kimmich.

However, criticism of Rangnick is growing in Austria. ÖFB President Wolfgang Bartosch said in conversation with “profile”: “Rangnick is very difficult.” And further: “I try to maintain the contact, but he always takes his own, unpredictable steps.”

Johann Gartner, Vice President of the ÖFB, was also dissatisfied with the sporting development: “From a sober point of view, we are not more with Rangnick than on Foda (Franco Foda, note d. Red.) “, he said.” His way of playing can be calculated. I lack the gates and the results. I expect new ideas from the team manager. “The sporting success” hides a lot. But the mood turned “.
