The season in the premier class of motorsport is still a long time. But Red Bull Racing reacts early to disappointing results of a pilot.
After only two races of the current season, a personnel decision was made at the Formula 1 top team Red Bull Racing. The racing team announced on Thursday on platform X that Yuki Tsunoda will already take over Liam Lawson’s cockpit at the Grand Prix in Suzuka on April 6th.
The 23-year-old Lawson started at the start of Max Verstappen at the beginning of the season-as the successor to Sergio Pérez. But the start was disappointing for the New Zealand. While Verstappen drives in the front despite technical problems, Lawson could not collect points.
Tsunoda has started for the sister team Racing Bulls so far. In the past, several drivers had difficulty assisting themselves – including Pierre Gasly, Alex Albon and most recently Sergio Pérez. Red Bull managers had already indicated a possible change in the past few weeks.
