Barcelona met a bad news a few weeks ago when the team doctor died. The game against Osasuna was canceled. Now it is made up for.
The team doctor’s sudden death, Carles Miñarro Garcia, had put the FC Barcelona team into a shock a few weeks ago. Because of the death, the team’s league home game was canceled by the former national coach Hansi Flick against Ca Osasuna shortly before kick-off.
The relocation of the game was the right decision, club boss Joan Laporta said immediately afterwards. Both the opponent Osasuna as well as the referees and the league association showed great understanding. The game will now be made up for Thursday – just one day after the international break.
There had been some discussions to kick off at 9 p.m. (in the live ticker at T-Online). Barcelona wanted to play on May 21, but the responsible disciplinary judge decided on March 27th. The Catalan’s objection was rejected.
It is unclear whether all national players will be on board on Thursday. Because with Raphina and Ronald Araújo, both key players of FC Barcelona were still on Tuesday and Wednesday with the Brazilian and Uruguayan national team. The recovery time is a few hours.
Barcelona has to go in the league again next Sunday, just three days later. The home game against FC Girona takes place at 4:15 p.m.
