The three-time football world champion Argentina is qualified as the next nation for the 2026 World Cup. Before the game against arch-rival Brazil (Wednesday, 1 a.m. CET), the Argentinians were able to look forward to their World Cup ticket because Bolivia did not get out of 0-0 in the Estadio Municipal El Alto against Uruguay.

In the South American qualification group, Argentina is located at the top of the table with 28 points from 13 games and thus becomes at least sixth, which is enough for the World Cup qualification. Of ten teams, the top six are at the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico. Bolivia remains seventh four game days before the end and would take part in the intercontinental playoffs.

Iran so far unbeaten and qualified

Previously, Iran had secured the ticket for the 2026 World Cup for the 2026 World Cup. In the Asian qualification group A, the team of coach Amir Ghalenoei gave a 2: 2 (0: 1) against Uzbekistan on Tuesday evening to take part in a World Cup finals for the fourth time in a row.

Inter Miland’s striker Mehdi Taremi scored a double pack (52./83.) In the Azadi Stadium in the Iranian capital Tehran and thus countered Khojimat Erkinov (16.) and Abbosbek Fayzullaev (53.) for Uzbekistan.

Unbeaten leaders

Iran is therefore undefeated after eight qualifications and leads Group A with 20 points. The world ranking 58. Uzbekistan is just behind with 17 points and can continue to dream of his first World Cup participation.

The Iranians have already been at a World Cup finals in the USA, Canada and Mexico for the sixth time, so far always failed in the group phase. Japan and New Zealand had previously solved the World Cup ticket. The three hosts are automatically qualified for the final round (June 11th to July 19, 2026), and 48 teams for the first time take part in the World Cup.
