José Rozenbroek will become the new editor -in -chief of Margriet from 1 May. Rozenbroek replaces Helene van Santen, who fulfilled this role since 2021 and switched in February as director of Podcast Publisher Day and Night Media.

Margriet has been around since 1938. The weekly magazine has been (re) positioning general women’s magazine to (online) magazine for the 60+ woman in recent years. “With her 64 years, José Rozenbroek is the perfect embodiment of the 60-plus course of Margriet,” says Hilmar Mulder, general editor-in-chief Women at publisher DPG Media. Margriet has the motto: your best time is now! “And she knows that better than anyone. So practice what you preach! There are countless talented 60-plus women, so now also a Margriet at the helm. Her rich experience in the magazine industry and her personal connection with this age group make her the ideal person to lead Margriet to the future,” said Mulder.

José Rozenbroek is a very experienced magazine maker. She has more than 15 years of experience as editor -in -chief of large media brands, such as Elle, Red and Volkskrant Magazine. In recent years she has been editor -in -chief at Radar+ and Human Inc., the magazine of the Humanist Association, and she wrote articles and interviews for Libelle, Linda., Vogue, Saar and FD personal. Now she will fully focus on her new role in Margriet.

Rozenbroek will start working from May and will be responsible for the editorial course of the Margriet brand in her new position. She will be committed to further strengthening the position of the magazine as a reliable and inspiring authority for women aged 60 and older. In his 86th anniversary, Margriet has grown into one of the largest cross-media brands in the Netherlands. Het heeft een merkbereik van ruim 2,5 miljoen (NMO Merkenmonitor 2024-IV) en is uitgeroepen tot Crossmediamerk van het Jaar 2023. Naast het weekblad zijn er 9 x per jaar de Margriet-Extra (specials), is er Margriet.nl, verschillende de social mediakanalen, nieuwsbrieven, puzzelboekjes, een podcast en – samen met Libelle – de jaarlijkse evenementen dé Winter fair and summer week.
