Selina Freitag shone at the SkiSprung World Cup in Lahti – but the story of the day once again delivered exceptional pringers Nika Prevc.
As with her victory on Thursday and as for the most part of the season, the Slovenin dominated the competition at will. With her tenth victory in a row, the exceptional athlete, with her only 20 years, has even equalized the record of Japanese Sara Takanashi, who also won ten times in a row in the 2015/16 season.
Prevc landed her second jump despite a clear lead with a breathtaking lead over the outstanding 133.5 meters – even the competition cheered after this achievement at the target of the record jumper. In the end, 328.8 points were available for them, and on Fridays it brought second place to 277.4 points. The podium completed the next Slovenin with EMA Klinec (274.4).
Schmid becomes fifth
Katharina Schmid, who became excellent fifth with two stable jumps, also beat very well on Friday and only missed the podium by 270.1 points by 4.3 points. Schmid had recently lost its shape in phases that they even thought loudly about resignation in this pre -Olympic season – maybe this jumping has now contributed to continuing.
Shortly after her second jump, Schmid also said in the sports show talk: “If I continue to feel as good as today, I definitely think that I will stay with it.” 15th place in Lahti went to Juliane Seyfahrt, who scored 230.0 points.
Pure dominance even in the first round
Already in the first round, a giant gap between Prevc and the pursuers was climbed. Friday was the penultimate of the starting list with 115 meters width in one place, a minute later the Slovenin came – and flew with the jury somewhat corrected to 128 meters.
“All podium places are not a matter of course for me”said on Friday at the sports show microphone. “There is always tough work behind it.” It has now paid off again.
