Thousands of students fiercely protested on Wednesday at the University of Istanbul against the arrest of the mayor of Istanbul Ekrem Imamoglu. The Turkish police tried to stop the students with tear gas and armons, but that didn’t work. The students managed to break the barricade. They called slogans about freedom and democracy against the Islamic government party AKP by Turkish President Erdogan.
