What is the “Red Red” project in Rome

In this context, in recent years innovative social cohousing models have emerged that propose an alternative to traditional forms of welfare. Not only temporary accommodationbut solidarity community where the sharing of spaces becomes an opportunity for personal growth and mutual support. It is for this purpose that “Rossi Rossi” is born, a project promoted and managed by the Integrano Program Social Cooperative, which intends to represent a concrete solution to the theme of contemporary women’s housing.
One response to housing difficulties
“Red roofs” It is aimed at women of different ages and origins that cross complex phases of their lives, offering them not only an affordable accommodation, but also an environment of sharing and mutual support. The philosophy that animates the initiative differs from traditional care logics: The goal is accompany them on a path of emancipation and self -determination. The period of stay is designed to be transient, precisely to encourage guests to gradually build their independence.

A sustainable model of solidarity
The Integra Cooperative Program, which manages the initiative, brings with it a wealth of significant experiences in the field of social inclusion. Founded in 2005, it has developed specific skills over the years in the accompaniment of people in situations of fragility. Not only with the assistance of people with problems, but with paths that led to favoring an autonomous and dignified life. Today the cooperative has about 100 operators, with a significant female majority.
Foresteria is reborn as an empowerment space
With “Red roofs” I resume life, so, The Forestry of the International Women’s Housea space that from the origins had been conceived as a place of welcome and that over time has hosted different experiences: from hostel for international travelers, to refuge for women fleeing war situations and persecution.
The new destination of the place keeps this tradition of female solidarity alive, However, adding a design size oriented to the empowerment oriented. The first guests have already been welcomed and work gradually to expand the accommodation capacity of the structure.
Red roofs, beyond the emergency: towards new welfare models
The experience of “Rossi” fits into a wider rethinking of welfare models and support for fragility situations. The initiative represents, in fact, an important experimentation to demonstrate that other paths of inclusion and female Empowerment can be traveled compared to more traditional ones.
The project is configured, in fact, as a concrete response to an increasingly widespread phenomenon of relative poverty of womenfor which the problem of the house often represents an insurmountable obstacle. The formal inauguration of “Rossi Tetti” will be held tomorrow, March 20, with a public event.
