I am a participant of various WhatsApp, signal and Ichat groups. In one of these groups, a punk, a metal and two indie rockers gather. We send each other a lot of nonsense. But sometimes the content is spectacular. Recently, one of the two indie rockers (I was not) put a YouTube link in the group: “Spoil” by the deadly. Seldom found something so much in our group. And with what? Rightly!

But others should clarify this question. Because this is not about Black Metal, but about Darkwave. The song just mentioned by the killer is more for my feeling as a wave or DSBM: “Go away with your sun / go away with your light / go away with your joy / I don’t need this life” and finally: “I look for a dark basement / I stay up to the Armageddon”. In the spring of 2025, this could almost be a sensible instructions for action.
Every person with a heart should also listen to the track “adapted philistine pigs”: “Life has changed / i am cold inside / i Want to die / When I see / adapted philistine pigs”. This is really the perfect hymn for any everyday situation. In addition, the deadline presents us with a minimalist but thrilling audio background including a Catchy children’s melody. I now maintain this track every day before breakfast. But only in good weather.
I think that the music of the deadly is much more than just a meta-Dark-wave oversubung
In December 2023, Selected Singles was published by the deadly. First as a tape at Sonic Centurion and 2024 then as a vinyl/CD at minimal combination. Of course, all formats are already sold out. In particular, the preferred edition including black candles and roses and black rose petals incorporated into the vinyl.
What remains to be said? I think the music of the deadly is much more than just a meta-Dark-wave oversubung. I suspect that the texts characterized by pain and despair are certainly based on experienced suffering. But I very much hope that the music is a means of compensation for the artist and also for her audience. And if we as a listener: keep it in mind and do not care for a purely ironic handling of this music, she can even put you in a good mood. Maybe I should go to Leipzig for the 32nd Wave Gothic meeting in June?
