Frasers Group strokes 30 percent of the positions in design and editorial team

The Frasers Group, parent company of Sports Direct and Flannels, is said to have initiated a consultation with the employees of their design and editorial teams as part of their latest restructuring measures.

A company spokeswoman confirmed the news of Retail Gazette and explained that 30 percent of the employees in the teams concerned would be affected by the measures. When asked by Fashionunited, the Frasers Group rejected a statement.

According to the sources of the media portal, the consultations began on March 7th among the employees of the London headquarters and the Shirebrook offices. It is assumed that newly hired employees are affected by the cuts, while management positions should remain largely untouched.

These measures are the latest round of job cancellations at the British retail giant. The company had already endangered 100 jobs in July of last year when it announced the closure of its Trafford office in Manchester. Afterwards, another 45 jobs were dismantled after the Frasers Group moved their trading digital team from London to Shirebook.

In December 2024, the Frasers Group reported for the first half of the 2024/25 financial year for sales and profits. Group sales fell by 8.3 percent, with the strongest slump in the Premium lifestyle division. The operational result fell by 10.5 percent.

At the time of the publication of the report, the company was nevertheless confident that it was able to ensure long -term, sustainable and profitable growth – even if the result forecast was corrected for the current financial year.
