The French biathlon star is privately with Anna Gandler. The Austrian is the daughter of ex-ski runner Markus Gandler. At the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, he won the silver medal over the 10 kilometers classic. The ex-athlete passed on his cross-country skiing to his 24-year-old daughter.

Even when Gandler announced her premature season on Instagram and explained to her followers that they have had “some infection” every month since May and told her body that it was no longer possible, commented the Émilia Claude. The biathlon couple has been together for a long time. As early as June 2023, both posted a photo of the golf course. When Claude scored his first podium in Ruhpolding at the beginning of the year in January, Anna Gandler was feverish.

She explained to the “Nordic Magazine” afterwards: “The race was incredible. I was missing. I was in my room, in my bed, and I also persecuted it in the IBU Datacenter because I wanted to know the result immediately before the television pictures … and I realized that he would make it on the podium, it is incredible.” She added with a laugh: “I cried too.”

Claude also raved about his second place and admitted to the “Nordic Magazin”: “It is a very emotional and proud moment, but also a relief. I do not have the impression that my life changes, but that the hard work pays off after four complicated years.” Gandler also added to her friend: “He had phases in which it didn’t go so well. For me, he is a great inspiration. He always sees the positive and never gives up.”
