Danny Peart, the brother of Neil Pearst, is dead. Danny Peart died of the same cancer as his brother. He died on Thursday (March 14, 2025). Around five years after his famous brother, who was drummer from Rush.

Danny Pearst suffered from a glioblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of a brain tumor. In the Facebook group Neil Peart drums and drumming was reported on Danny Peary’s death. He published numerous collections during his lifetime, including “Stark Naked in A Laundromat” (2016) with a foreword by Neil Peart and “Another Mountain to Climb”.

In a conversation with “Q104.3”, guitarist Alex Lifeson was asked whether he and bassist Geddy Lee had thought about filling the band with a new drummer.
