The first Tour de France winner (1968), Jan Janssen, has been pronounced when it comes to a successor to himself and Joop Zoetemelk (1980). Tom Dumoulin was close by in 2018 with a second place, but currently it is not good in terms of Dutch classification riders in the big rounds.
