Rijksmuseum pulls out ‘Amount with five zeros’ for rhino Clara: ‘Superstar in the 18th century’

The Rijksmuseum bought a picture of the world -famous rhino Clara at the Tefaf Kunstbeurs in Maastricht. The animal was a true sensation in the 18th century. A Dutch captain traveled past all the fairs and annual markets in Europe to show her.
