More than 50 years after his death, Jim Morrison again makes headlines: The new “Apple TV+” documentary series “Before The End: Searching for Jim Morrison” claims that the legendary singer of the Doors is still alive-and is now to lead a withdrawn life under the name “Frank” as a caretaker in Syracuse, New York.

The three -part series has been running in the stream since January, but only now does the absurd theory make high waves. Director and Doors superfan Jeff Finn, according to his own information, has researched Morrison for 39 years, brings indications together that fans and conspiracy theorists are allowed to listen equally: Frank, who is supposed to be Morrison, evades questions about his identity and reminds a great external way to the singer-including a scar on the nose Medalmal had.

Particularly sensitive: Two former friends of Morrison are said to have broken out into tears when looking at Frank’s photo – apparently convinced of the similarity. “Before the End: Searching for Jim Morrison”-all three episodes of the mini documentary are now available on Apple TV+.

The myth of Jim Morrison’s allegedly fake death is not new

Speculations have been circulating for a long time that the singer is said to have staged his death in order to escape the fame and pressure of the rock star. In 1971 Morrison was found lifeless in a bathtub in Paris – officially died at the age of 27. But since an autopsy was never carried out, there is room for speculation. Jim Morrison is now 81 years old.

Jim Morrison is still considered one of the most exciting and most mysterious rock stars in music history. With his band The Doors, he shaped the sound of a generation in the late 1960s – between psychedelic rock, blues and poetic melancholy. Songs like “Riders on the Storm”, “Light My Fire” and “The End” made him an icon.

Outside the stage, Morrison was notorious for his excessive lifestyle. Alcohol, drugs and legendary appearances, which often took place on the edge of the collapse, determined his public picture. His early death at the age of 27 in Paris fueled the myth of his person – a myth that apparently does not come to rest decades later.
