The manipulation of diving suits has been causing great vertebrae in ski jumping since last weekend. The World Association reacts and decides to make changes for the rest of the season.

After the recent scandal about manipulated suits, the World Ski Sprung World Association has decided on new rules for the remaining World Cup competitions. The athletes are only allowed to compete with a single jump suit by the end of the season. This must have been equipped with an identification chip this winter. A second suit may only be available as a replacement if the main train is damaged.

Before today’s World Cup on the Holmenkollen in Oslo, the suits are to be checked together with the athletes. After the competition, the suits of FIS officials are collected and spent around 30 minutes before the next training or competition. These new requirements also affect the Nordic combination.

The background to the rule change is the incidents at the recently ended World Championships in Trondheim. There, manipulated suits Norwegian ski jumper had noticed.

The World Cup host had attached an unauthorized seam in the suits, which should give the athletes more stability after the jump and thus give an advantage in the air. As a result of the revelations, the FIS suspended the Norwegian top athletes Marius Lindvik and Johann André Forfang.
