SV Waldhof Mannheim won the neighborhood duel against SV Sandhausen. The Mannheimers won a dramatic game 3: 2 (3: 1).
Only 25 kilometers separate the two Palatinate third division teams from each other, in the table they even separated only two points before the game – and that in the absolute table cellar. No wonder that the game between the tenth Waldhof Mannheim and the SV Sandhausen table sixteenth began with a good dose of nervousness. In front of 13,886 spectators, the Mannheim home side shook them off after just a few minutes and rewarded themselves after 14 minutes with the lead goal. Felix Lohkemper used a beautiful half -field flank by Lukas Klünter with a Schlenzer into the short corner.
In the subsequent minutes, too, the Mannheimers gave the tone and kept the SV Sandhausen largely away from their own goal. Although the SVS tried to settle offensive accents in the middle of the first half, Mannheim remained the better team without initially getting big opportunities. Symptomatic therefore that the 2-0 made from a hair -raising mistake of the sand houses. SVS defender Niklas Lang played a completely crashed back pass into the course of Waldhof goalkeeper Lohkemper, who only had to put the ball in the middle. The included André Becker had no trouble to accommodate the ball from five meters in the goal – 2: 0 (32nd minute). Just six minutes later it was Becker again who used a clünter flank to 3: 0 (38th). It looked like a clear thing.
Sandhouses Glimmer of hope by Schikora
Sandhausen, however, did not give up and won a glimmer of hope before the half -time whistle. After a corner, Mannheim goalkeeper Jan-Christoph Bartels was unhappy, the ball landed right in front of the feet of Marco Schikora, who only had to insert (43.). The break was 3-1 for SV Waldhof Mannheim.
The Mannheimers tried to go to the second round for control. Sandhausen, on the other hand, repeatedly set smaller pinpricks, but did not cause greater need in the Waldhöfer defense. So it took until the 61st minute before being cheered again. After a strong individual campaign on the penalty area, Taylan Duman fled the ball into the upper left Waldhof -Eck – only 3: 2, the SV Sandhausen was back in the game. As a result, an increasingly hectic game developed with possibilities on both sides, but another goal did not want to fall. In the end, SV Sandhausen threw everything forward again, but the Waldhöfer defense withstood.
Mannheim climbs in 16th place
So the game ended 3-2 for SV Waldhof Mannheim, who passed the table in SV Sandhausen and leaves the relegation places. The Waldhöfer near Erzgebirge Aue (4:30 p.m.) will have to come next Sunday, as early as 1:30 p.m. SV Sandhausen receives the table third from Cottbus.
