Daniela Behrens in the crosshairs: Such a poster in the Lower Saxony Sendary triggered great outrage. Ex-96 boss Martin Kind condemns fans for the campaign.
This should be “fully rejected. That is not possible,” said child of the German press agency. “The active fan scene abuses the Bundesliga football platform. You should use your mind.”
There had been numerous fan protests at the explosive second division duel on Sunday. The hard core of the 96 supporters had not followed the game in the fan block as usual, but got cards for the counter stands. From there, they threw fireworks and tennis balls onto the field and caused an interruption of the game early on. Because of the crosshairs, the police initiated an investigation “for threats” on Sunday.
The hostility to the Interior Minister has a concrete background: Behrens had significantly supported the partial exclusion of guest fans at Niedersachsenderbys. Also during the game on Sunday, the guest block was only a maximum of 60 percent. In protest, only around 800 Braunschweig followers traveled to Hanover.
