The singers Froukje, Eefje de Visser and Roxy Dekker won an Edison on Monday evening. The dance shit ‘Pretty Girls’ by rapper Frenna has also been awarded a bronze statue.

At the Edisons Pop 2025 in the AFAS Theater in Leusden, prizes were awarded in eleven categories. The Edisons, the oldest music prize in the Netherlands for ‘music productions of exceptional quality and impact’, exist 65 years. Since 2010, all those music productions have been from the Netherlands.

Singer Froukje won the best album for her album Necessary sadness. The jury calls her “a songwriter of the highest level”, with an album “that is strikingly wise and frank, but at the same time also addresses themes that are extremely recognizable for many young people. A young spirit with an old soul. ” Eefje de Visser, winner in the Dutch category, is also a figurehead “and has created a new sound in pop music”. Roxy Dekker won in the POP category, which all her hit singles fall. It is an exceptional year for the only 20-year-old singer, who received the Edison Pop newcomer last year. The openness of artists was specially praised this year. Like the album Learn to live From rapper Fresku who won in the hip hop category.
