Last: PEC Zwolle – Ajax 0-1

Lieke Klaver (Enkhuizen) and Femke Bol have each conquered their second gold medal at the European Indoor Athletics Championship in Apeldoorn. The Superduo guided the women’s team for the third time in a row to the European title on the 4×400 meter relay. Together with Nina Franke and Cathelijn Peeters, they recorded a time of 3.24.34, a Dutch record and the best time in the world this year.

Bol and Klaver were also the engines of the relay team that won the gold in Istanbul (2023) and Torun (2021). Bol conquered all its sixth European indoor gold.

The korfball players of Blauw-Wit lose the LDODK topper with 24-18. Despite the defeat, the Amsterdammers remain fourth in the Korfball League, which at the end of the competition gives the right to play the play-offs.

Blauw-Wit has not been able to take advantage of KZ’s draw against direct competitor PKC: 28-28. The difference between Blauw-Wit and PKC is two points. KZ and Blauw-Wit will play against each other next week in the Korfball League.

Profit for the hockey players of Amsterdam at the restart of the big league. HDM went over 3-2. Hurley took a good point against leader Den Bosch (2-2), while Pinoké loudly lost 5-2 to SCHC.

The hockey players of HC Bloemendaal have again surprisingly lost in the big league. The men fell 3-2 against Klein Switzerland. Midweeks there was still won with the same figures from Rotterdam. Close attacker Amsterdam beat Nijmegen 3-0 yesterday, making the difference only two points.

Hurley played a draw against HDM with 1-1, while Pinoké narrowly lost to Oranje-Rood (4-3).

Eintracht Frankfurt has not continued the victory at Ajax in the eighth finals of the Europa League (1-2) in the Bundesliga. The number 4 in Germany lost 2-1 to Union Berlin at home.

Eintracht Frankfurt and Ajax will play the return match in Frankfurt on Thursday.

Ajax has submitted a request to UEFA to get goalkeeper Matheus to be entitled to play for next Thursday with Eintracht Frankfurt in the eighth finals of the Europa League. “We think the rules allow that. We now have to wait and see what answer we get,” said trainer Francesco Farioli after the win at PEC Zwolle (0-1).

Matheus is the second goalkeeper of Ajax after the departure of Dian Ramaj in the last transfer period. The club from Amsterdam did not register the Brazilian keeper at UEFA. Clubs were allowed to put three new players on the European list halfway through the season. At Ajax they chose Davy Klaassen, Lucas Rosa and Oliver Edvardsen.

It is over in Zwolle. The fans of Ajax can breathe relieved again after the game. The only goal of Kenneth Taylor from the penalty spot appears to be sufficient for the narrow victory.

Ajax remains the leader with a lead of eight points compared to PSV. AZ will be the next opponent in the Eredivisie in exactly a week, Eintracht Frankfurt will first follow next Thursday.

Bertrand Traoré still taps the ball from close by after a cross from Steven Berghuis, the striker taps the ball in the goal from offside position.

What a chance for PEC in injury time. A Lobje from Thomas Buitink is just about the goal of Ajax.

Bertrand Traoré gives the ball to Oliver Edvardsen, who apparently can easily put the ball in the goal. However, his shot goes from Ajax point of view on the wrong side of the post.

Taylor’s tibia is wrapped with an Icepack. That doesn’t look good with a view to Thursday, the return against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Kenneth Taylor goes to the side and is replaced by Branco van den Boomen in the final phase. Ajax seems to be heading for a narrow win.

Steven Berghuis dribbles inside and gets the chance to shoot. With a Leep Ballje he tries to get the ball into the goal, but goalkeeper Jasper Schendelaar can turn.

Edvardsen and Henderson come in. Kian Fitz-Jim and Mika Godts take a seat on the couch. They see from the side that Vente heads a corner just over the goal of Ajax.

Kenneth Taylor has a cramp and stays on for a while. After a short break he can go through again. In the meantime, Jordan Henderson and Oliver Edvardsen are preparing for a substitution.

After a new estimation error from Mokio, Davy van den Berg can play. However, his commitment swings about the goal.

PEC striker Dylan Vente crawls out of the back of Jorthy Mokio and is just short of a cross. Happiness lingers Ajax’s ass.

Kenneth Taylor then breaks the spell for Ajax from the penalty spot. It’s 0-1 in Zwolle!

It is all very unhappy for Anselmo Mac Nulty, but his handball leads to a penalty for Ajax. Kenneth Taylor is going to take him.

Kenneth Taylor has a free shooting opportunity from edge sixteen and shoots the ball against Anselmo Mac Nulty’s hands, but Bas Nijhuis sees no penalty in it. The VAR is now checking it and calls Nijhuis to the side.

Filip Krastev tries it from a distance. However, goalkeeper Matheus can simply catch the ball and the danger is smothered in the bud.

Does Ajax still cross the line in Zwolle? The ball rolls again.

The first half is over in Zwolle, where it is still 0-0. For a long time it was a very boring competition, but in the last ten minutes the chances became bigger and bigger. See you!

Ryan Thomas gets the ball in the sixteen with a lucky time, after which Anton Gaaei becomes the ball unhappy and almost passes Matheus. The Portuguese goalkeeper can ultimately save.

On the other hand, Fitz-Jim gets a big chance again after a beautiful pass from Berghuis. Fitz-Jim finds Schendelaar on his way, just like Berghuis in the Rebound.

Steven Berghuis gives a deep ball towards Kenneth Taylor, who heads the ball towards Mika Godts. The Belgian goes outside and takes out with the left. Alkmaarder Jasper Schendelaar can turn and the header of Jorrel Hato is then too soft.

In the subsequent attack, the use of Kian Fitz-Jim is not sufficient from close by. The midfielder defends well with the counter. Towards the break the game lives up a bit.

Ajax has not yet been able to find a hole in the wall of PEC Zwolle. We crawl towards the break and in this way it seems to stay 0-0.

Jorrel Hato initially chokes in Dylan Mbayo, but the newly 19-year-old (Friday was his birthday) is recovering on time. Goalkeeper Matheus can easily pick up the ball. Ajax has created few great opportunities in Zwolle.

Mathko Pasveer, the replacement of Remko Pasveer, grabbs with a corner and is lucky that a PEC player is shooting the ball high.

The Ajax striker is now sitting on the field and is forced to be replaced. Bertrand Traoré therefore makes his appearance on the field within fifteen minutes.

Brian Brobbey stays at the sidelines for a while. After an injury treatment he can continue. Ajax comes out dangerous through Mika Godts, but the Belgian gives the ball blindly. Brobbey could not be seen there.

Youri Baas is held down in the sixteen and will waste the ball. Davy van den Berg shoots, but he is called back. The cheers in Zwolle is therefore for nothing.

Can Ajax retain the difference with PSV in the Eredivisie? We are loose in Zwolle.

FC Utrecht did not make no mistake in the battle for participation in the preliminary rounds of the Champions League. The team of trainer Ron Jans won the away match against Willem II extremely difficult: 2-3. Halfway through, Willem II still led 1-0.

FC Utrecht remains in third place and now has 6 points more than AZ, that this weekend due to the upcoming meeting on Tuesday with Tottenham Hotspur will not play in the eighth finals of the Europa League.

Francesco Farioli can ever become the seventh trainer who conquered more than sixty points in his first 25 Premier League matches as head coach. The only other coach who succeeded this century was Mark van Bommel: 64 points in 25 games in the 2018/19 season. Ajax is currently at sixty points.

Isabel van den Berg from Amstelveen stranded in Omnisport Apeldoorn in the series with times of 7.32 respectively at the 60 meters at the European Indoor European Championship. Minke Bisschops is in the semi -final.
