The international ski jumping is horrified by the Norwegian hosts at the World Championship in Trondheim after the flown fraud. Poland head coach Thomas Thurnbichler was disappointed by his colleague Magnus Brevig, who was seen in the scandal video.
Norway’s skiing head coach Magnus Brevig comes to the center of criticism after the manipulation scandal at the Nordic Ski World Cup. Brevig could be seen on the secretly recorded video, which triggered the ski jumping quake on Saturday and transferred the hosts of the fraud on Saturday.
On Sunday, the 41-year-old was missing at a specially convened press conference of the Norwegian Association, at which sports director Jan Erik Aalbu admitted fraud. Where Brevig is, Aalbu does not know.
Poland coach Thomas Thurnbichler targeted his counterpart the day after the scandal. “We see the head coach of the national team there and watch a blatant sports fraud,” the Austrian is quoted at “Skijumping.pl”: “This is not a minor, banal offense. These are serious interventions in the construction of the tightening bones. This is prohibited.”
Suspicion: cloning at about cloning?
The events are “incredible”, Thurnbichler was very disappointed. “Exactly to rule out something like that, the chipping was introduced.”
Mathias Hafele, who is responsible for the suits in the Polish team, described the fraud of the World Cup host as “doping”. In the meantime, you can hardly rule out anything.
There is even suspicion that an “illegal, cloned or previously approved chip” was found in the Norwegian suit. “This cannot be determined by the view of the video, but should be checked,” he asked the World Association FIS.
In this country, too, the horror was great after the manipulation became known. “This is a disaster. That makes me angry and sad,” said DSV sports director Horst Hüttel. Skispring icon Sven Hannawald spoke of the “ugliness of our sport”. The image damage for ski jumping is huge. When asked whether this was a black day for ski jumping, Hannawald replied to the “ARD”: “If there was a darker color as black, I would take it.”
