On the proposal of Minister Outermark of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, the Council of Ministers agreed to nominate Mr DHJ (Daniel) Wigboldus for appointment as the King’s Commissioner in the province of Gelderland. The appointment starts on March 19, 2025.

Mr. Wigboldus is 55 years old. He was chairman of the Executive Board of Radboud University until January 2025. Before that he was a dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the same university between 2013 and 2017.
Mr. Wigboldus succeeds Mr Henri Lenferink who has been acting commissioner of the King in the province of Gelderland since 2 October 2023.
