First execution with firing squad in US in 15 years: prisoner chooses “out of desperation” for the bullet

For the first time in fifteen years, an executed person was executed by a firing squad in the United States. Brad Sigmon (67), guilty of two murders, chose to shoot for himself because he was afraid that the electric chair or a deadly injection would mean a slower and more painful death. He was shot on Friday.
