Streaming was consolidated as an unstoppable phenomenon in Argentina, and the figures confirm it. According to the report of Meltwater and We are social, in 2024 Argentines consume an average one hour and 25 minutes of live content per day. This sustained growth positions digital platforms as key spaces for public debate and agenda generation, especially in an electoral year, where policy and public opinion are disputed on multiple fronts.

In this context, the monthly ranking of “live stream”, backed by the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), allows us to understand which channels lead the digital scene and which are gaining ground. In addition, it has become a strategic indicator for candidates and campaign teams, which seek to take advantage of these high visibility spaces to capture new audiences.

Luzu TV, the undisputed streaming leader

The February ranking brought some surprises, consolidated trends and left a clear message: Luzu TV remains at the top, although the competition intensifies. With 28,135,487 visualizations, Luzu TV remains in the first position of the “Live Stream” ranking. Its success is based on a dynamic and fresh format, a close connection with the audience and a well -defined digital strategy. Since its creation in 2020, in full pandemic, the channel grew to became an undisputed reference of Argentine streaming.

But the gap is smoothed. Olga, with 19,227,106 visualizations, is consolidated as a weight competitor. Since its launch in June 2023, with Migue Granados as the main figure, the channel has built its own identity and a faithful community. The rivalry between Luzu and Olga is reflected in the annual ranking: although Luzu led in February, in the accumulated of 2024 Olga is positioned as the most watched channel with 202,780,031 visualizations, surpassing the 199,541,1118 of Luzu. In addition, Olga added 743,000 subscribers in the last year, compared to the 630,000 of his competitor.

Streaming and politics: the channels that mark agenda

The impact of streaming in the electoral year

The “Live Stream” ranking not only reflects the preferences of the public, but also the dynamics of the media ecosystem in a crucial election year for Argentina. After Javier Milei’s communicational impact on the 2023 elections, streaming was consolidated as a space for political and cultural dispute. The battle of the stories no longer happens only on television and social networks, but also in digital channels, where the public looks for alternatives to traditional media.

As the campaign progresses, channels such as Blender, Neura and Republic Z could gain greater prominence as debate spaces, interviews and analysis that mark the political agenda. With March in progress and the programming grids already defined after the summer changes, the big question is: will these trends be maintained or will we see a change in streaming leadership in the coming months?

For now, Luzu and Olga dominate the scene. But competition is more alive than ever. This just begins.
